Besan Ke Chille (Gram flour flatbread)

Hi Friends, its been a long time, since I've written anything...my apologies, as I was caught in some impending work..Well enough said, being a weekend and on my son and daughter in laws request, I decided to make "besan ke chilley" today. The ingredients are as following. Serves (4)

Besan - 250 gms (gram flour)
Oil / Ghee - 5 table spoons
Green chilies (finely chopped ) - 2 to 3
Green coriander (finely chopped) - little quantity
Little bit of Asafoetida - Heeng
Salt to taste

Put the gram flour (besan) in a broad bowl and add salt, chilies and coriander. Add water to make a uniform paste (the paste should not be very thick or very thin and should be of medium consistency). The paste should be kept for 15 minutes aside.

Pre-heat the tawa, and put some ghee or oil on it and spread the paste on tawa to give it a round shape, similar to that of a roti / pizza. After one side bakes (should turn light brown) turn the chilla with the help of a spatula, and bake the other side in similar manner.

That's all...pretty easy, isn't it. You might also try putting a combination of some finely chopped onions and cottage cheese (paneer) after making the chilla in between and roll it into half. This can make the taste different and it make it more filling.

It is an ideal breakfast or evening snack, to be served with home made pudina (mint) chatni...
Enjoy snacking :) and let me know if you want to request any recipe in particular.
